There are soft drinks as they are, and soft drinks as they were meant to be. Only a few slightly potty individuals like Guy and Sheila Woodall refuse to bow to commercial pressures and carry on making the best drinks they know how to. Drinks like Elderflower Cordial, Pink Ginger Cordial, Cranberry & Hibiscus and many others, all have their roots in herbal healing, and taste just as great as you would expect from drinks made with such natural materials, often gathered fresh from the wild or from our own organic plantations, many based on pure fruit juice without added refined sugar.
Thorncroft is a small family business that started out on a small farm near Leatherhead in Surrey in the 1980's. Thorncroft specialise in making cordials mostly from old recipes and often using fresh natural ingredients gathered from the wild, or from our own organic plantations. Their range includes five traditional and four well-being cordials, and three sparkling drinks.
Herbal drinks have always been associated with health benefits, and in earlier times these were the main reason for consuming these drinks. Many of these benefits have been investigated by modern medical science.

Elderflower – Only the petals of fresh wild elderflowers are good enough for Thorncroft’s version of this justly famous drink. Elderflower is possibly the best known and loved of all herbal drinks. The Healthy Thirst version is made extra strong to give the maximum Muscat/lychee flavour with the minimum sugar.
Cranberry & Hibiscus – A clean fruity fusion of European cranberries and exotic Hibiscus. The dry clean taste of European cranberries combines perfectly with hibiscus floweres to make this wonderfully clean and thirst quenching drink. If you just have a raging thirst, this is the one for you.
Pink Ginger – Irresistibly scrumptious, distinctly pink, utterly refreshing. Made with fresh ginger.ms of originality and performance. The prettiest of the Healthy Thirst drinks is also one of the most attractive flavours, clean, refreshing and aromatic but not at all hot or fiery. There’s only one way to get this lovely natural flavour, which is to use lots and lots of freshly grated fresh ginger root, so that’s what we do in our factory. As far as we know this is the only drink on the market made this way, which probably explains why it tastes so different from other ginger drinks made from various types of mass-produced ginger extracts and flavours. As well as having a deliciously refreshing flavour pink ginger is known for its ability to settle an unruly stomach – ideal for pregnant women.
Healthy Thirst, Thorncroft’s delicious ready to drink range received the top award in the adult soft drinks category at the First Global Soft Drinks Congress organised by Zenith International.
The accolade was awarded at a global presentation organised by softdrinksworld business journal in Amsterdam on 3rd March 2005.
Thorncroft’s Founder Guy Woodall collected the award and commented:
